Apple Daycare - Important Update

Well what a week we’ve had!

We are trying our best to keep as much of our provision open to as many children as possible, but it is fair to say we have been stretched to the limit this week and been overwhelmed at times.

We took the decision to close Oxlease House because a number of staff returned positive PCR tests on Tuesday/Wednesday

We closed the House on Thursday, because two family members have tested Positive.

In total 11 members of Staff and 3 Children have returned positive PCR tests. We have stepped up the Zoono treatments at all settings.

If your setting has been affected we will be emailing you later today with potential alternatives to care at your usual setting for next week… if these suggestions are inconvenient or not required please let us know asap so we might be able to resolve your individual concerns, (by 4pm today 10/12/2021). We hope that all settings will be open as normal from Week Commencing 20/12/2021.

This disruption to our usual service is most regrettable, i can assure everyone we are doing everything in our power to reduce the impact on the children. However I should like to point out that these circumstances are unprecedented and are completely outside of our control.

I should like to thank all of our staff who have stepped up to fill what ever gaps we’ve had this week and next, to provide continuity of care for your children.

With regard to illness between now and Christmas, please do not bring children to Nursery if they have any symptoms, even if you are certain they are not Covid related ie teething or head colds.

Whilst the Government has stuck to the three main symptoms, High Temperature, Continuous Cough and Loss/Change to smell and taste…

  • running nose

  • sneezing

  • head ache

  • and upset stomachs

Are also well know symptoms of coronavirus… (see Zoe Symptom Study App https://covid.joinzoe.com/)

Kindest Regards, Samantha Baker
